Besakih,The Mother of The Temple in Bali



Pura Besakih is a complex of temples located in Besakih village, district of Rendang, Karangasem regency, Bali about 2 hours land driving to north-eastern from Denpasar,the main town of the island. Besakih temple complex consists of 18 Pura (temple) and 1 main temple .


Pura Besakih is the center of activities for all existing temples in Bali. Among all pretend that included in the Besakih temple complex, Pura Agung Besakih is a temple of the largest, most of the buildings, most of rituals and is the center, and all existing temples in Besakih.

At the main part of the Temple there are 3 main statue Tri Murti: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who is the symbol of God the Creator, Preserver and Smelters.
All the Hindus in Bali or outside Bali came to this temple, to pray for the worship of Brahma Vishnu Shiva, (God the creator, maintainer and smelters Deity). In this temple were lined pretend for prayers for Hindu who owns or descent from the generation of earlier kingdoms, is also the ancestral heritage of the oldest in Bali.
